Avnee is passionate about helping her clients to achieve a greater psychological and physical wellbeing through gaining a better understanding into their thought patterns, feelings, and behaviours. She has a particular interest in supporting adults affected by cancer and other chronic health issues to cope with the physical and emotional impact of these conditions and improve their quality of life. Additionally, she enjoys working with individuals struggling with anxiety and everyday stress related difficulties.
Avnee utilises a range of evidence-based interventions including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Schema Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness-based approaches, with therapy tailored to each client’s needs and goals. She also values integrating scientific research from the fields of neuroscience and biology into her therapeutic approach to help empower her clients with knowledge about the mind-body connection.
In addition to her work at RWA, Avnee has trained and worked at various public hospitals in both inpatient and outpatient multidisciplinary settings, including Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, Westmead Hospital, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and St Vincent’s Hospital. In these roles, she has supported patients, carers and families living with cancer and chronic pain to navigate through complex and challenging experiences.
