Emma is a warm and collaborative psychologist who enjoys working together with her clients to determine the most suitable therapeutic approach to meet their individual needs. She has experience working across a broad range of issues with a particular interest in Anxiety and workplace injury with additional training as a rehabilitation counsellor.
Emma is particularly passionate about assisting those who have experienced a workplace injury. Whether that be adjusting to the changes or sense of loss that comes about as a result of a physical injury or the impact that a workplace psychological injury can have on an individual. She has extensive experience in dealing with insurers, rehabilitation providers and doctors within the workers compensation system. She is passionate about ensuring that the individual has a voice in this process and is able to manage this difficult, life changing and challenging time in their lives.
She utilises evidence based therapeutic approaches including cognitive behaviour therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy and mindfulness based approaches. Emma has experience working with young adults and adults presenting with a wide range of psychological issues and concerns including:
- Bipolar disorder
- Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
- Grief and loss
- Pain and adjustment to injury
- Self esteem issues
- Relationship difficulties
